American Airlines to start Dallas and Phoenix Routes to Loreto

BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR, MEXICO, DECEMBER 16, 2020 ⎯⎯ American Airlines has made access to Marina Puerto Escondido in Loreto Baja California Sur easier with the announcement of two new seasonal US-based flights from Phoenix and Dallas. The flights begin on the 17th of December and are scheduled to fly until May 2021.

The flights will be under 2 hours in duration from both major US cities multiple times per week, which makes traveling to Loreto, Baja California Sur easier than ever. The routes will be flown exclusively by the Bombardier CRJ700 series aircraft, which seats around 70 passengers. Airline tickets are available in the Economy class for around $300 US dollars round trip. All American Airlines flights have enhanced cleaning and safety measures for COVID-19.

Possibly the best outcome of this new service is that travelers from the east coast of the United States will now be able to access Loreto through layovers in the two major American hubs. This was previously impossible due to departure times to Loreto being too early for travelers to make a connection.

“These new routes are very important for Loreto,” said Marina Puerto Escondido General Manager, Enrique Salcedo. “The new flights will give people better access to our amazing destination – Baja’s newest full-service yacht marina – with premium service, natural protection, and remote adventure.”

To inaugurate the new service, an event is being hosted by representatives from the Loreto local and state governments as well as members of the Hotel Association in Loreto. The water salute tradition whereby firetrucks spray an arch of water over the aircraft is said to be scheduled for when the first flight touches down in Loreto.
