Golf in Baja

From Tijuana to Cabo San Lucas, there are more than 20 golf courses just waiting to be enjoyed by golf lovers.

The golf scene in Baja seems to be constantly expanding, with new courses being planned or being built from north to south. With twenty courses already available and more planned or under construction, Baja offers golfers many superb options. Los Cabos, on the very tip of the peninsula currently offers the most choices with 12 courses for golfers of all levels to enjoy.

Many of the courses in Baja take advantage of the peninsula’s incredible coastline. In Los Cabos, all of the courses offer players spectacular ocean views and five of the courses have holes that front on either the Pacific Ocean or the Sea of Cortez.

La Paz, the popular capital city of Baja California Sur, is finally getting into the golf game with two courses now complete, the newest opened in November of 2010. There is also a beautiful course at Bahia de Los Sueños, less than an hour’s drive from La Paz. There are several more golf courses planned for the La Paz area, whether these will ever happen is anyone’s guess at this time.
